Railway Board’d Cells/Committees merged to their respective Directorates
Recently, list of Directorates as appearing in Indian Railways website at https://indianrailways.gov.in/railwayboard/view_section.jsp?lang=0&id=0,1,388 was reviewed in light of the recommendations made by Principle Economic Adviser, M/o Finance on ‘Rationalization of Government Bodies under M/o Railways’.
Inadvertently in IR Website, Cells/Committees Reports etc., were also being displayed as a Directorate of Railway Board though the number of Directorates functioning in Railway Board is 35 only.
Accordingly, Cells/Committee etc., which were figuring individually, were merged into their respective Directorate keeping their Content intact.
VideRailway Board’s Letter No. 2021/O&M/3/5, dated 25.10.2021, Indian Railways begins its rationalization process. Directorates are being merged and PSU are being closed.

20 Cells/Committees earlier shown as Directorates are merged into their respective Directorate. Now, Railway Board will have 35 directorates instead of earlier shown as 55 directorates.
