- Visit the Official page of IRCTC Website for cancellation.
- Enter the following details:
- PNR Number
- Train Number
- Captcha Code


- Read the Rules and Procedures and check the confirmation box.
- Click ‘Submit’.
🔐 OTP Verification
- An OTP will be sent to the mobile number given at the time of booking.
- Enter the OTP and click ‘Submit’.
- After successful validation, PNR details will be displayed.
🚫 Ticket Cancellation
- Verify the ticket details.
- Click on ‘Cancel Ticket’ for full cancellation.
- The refund amount will be displayed.
- You will receive an SMS like: “Your PNR xxxxxxxxxx has been cancelled. Collect refund amt ₹xxxxx from journey commencing station or nearby satellite PRS locations. Ref. Terms & conditions”

- Carry the original ticket to claim refund at PRS counters.
- Refund can be collected from any PRS counter or designated satellite PRS locations.
⏰ Time Limits for Ticket Cancellation
Confirmed Tickets | Up to 4 hours before departure |
RAC/Waitlisted Tickets | Up to 30 minutes before departure |
⏰ Refund Timing After Departure
- For Trains Departing between 18:01 hrs – 06:00 hrs:
Refund allowed during first two hours of PRS counter opening next day. - For Trains Departing between 06:01 hrs – 18:00 hrs:
Refund allowed up to 4 hours after departure during PRS working hours.

- Refund beyond these time limits can be collected only at journey commencing station or its nearby designated PRS locations.
